📍 0.7 miles from EnviroVent Stadium
The pub positions itself as a matchday stop for Harrogate Town, noting it’s “on the way to the ground” and welcoming supporters for pre- and post-match drinks. They also screen live football (e.g., Lionesses fixtures), giving fans who aren’t at the stadium a place to watch together. For sustenance before or after the game, CAMRA/WhatPub list pizzas and light snacks (including gluten-free/vegan options). Drink-wise there’s a rotating line-up of cask and keg, with regulars like Timothy Taylor and Turning Point, so groups can get served quickly and head on. Altogether, it’s a convenient, football-aware venue in town that caters to matchgoers’ key needs: on-route location, live TV football, and simple food and beer to fuel the day.
Superb local pub with great semi circular bar. Really cosy and welcoming feeling. Beer was in good order. Lots of people enjoying themselves.
Think Cheers bar but smaller and more “Yorkshire”. It’s just a great pub. The banter across the bar is legendary and it’s so full of characters. It’s something about the shape of the bar that presents itself as soon as you open the door. Sure there are spaces for privacy but for me it’s all about the bar. It forces you to socialise and share stories. The beer is excellent but that’s not the main thing. It’s everything a pub should be. A place to meet, to walk the dog, to debate, share stories and have a laugh. It’s an oasis of fun, an escape from the hum drum and a timeless reminder of why pubs must never die. Long live the Dev.
Nice pub with good selection of beers.
The Devonshire Tap House has an excellent selection of beer (cask and draft), great staff, and is in a very interesting building. I am very happy that they reopened this establishment. This place was previously called 10 Devonshire Place and it was closed in later 2018....
Very simply - if I lived in Harrogate, this would be my local. Friendly staff and friendly customers. Excellent Cask Ales. Music but not intrusive. Dog-friendly. All round lovely pub. Credit to all.
