About this Pub

Starling
Town-centre location (47 Oxford St, HG1 1PW) about 350m from Harrogate railway station makes Starling a convenient meet-up for matchdays by train. Grimsby Town’s supporter guide says Harrogate station is roughly a 20-minute walk from the Exercise Stadium and that there are plenty of town-centre pubs, so it’s practical for a pre- or post-match stop. Starling serves food daily (brunch, pizza) with the kitchen open to 9pm, useful for early kick-offs or after the final whistle, and it regularly lists a range of local cask/keg beers. They have also screened major fixtures (e.g., the Euro 2024 final), handy if you want to catch other games around your match schedule.

⭐⭐⭐

Great place overall, little pricey for pizza and in honesty, £7.50 for a portion of sweet potato fries is obscene. It's just a casual bar/restaurant not a Mitchelin star restaurant. Pleasant welcome and waiter really helpful. Food went cold quickly on wooden boards and sweet potato was.cold almost straight away, helped along by room upstairs that we were in, being freezing! I had my coat on the whole time as so cold. Radiators were on but far too small for the room especially with huge glass windows. That spoilt it as eating out should be pleasurable so sitting in a fridge on a cold winters night is not a pleasant experience and I was glad to get in my car. Hence I've taken stars off....for the prices and the coldness. For this reason we wouldn't return.

Very comfortable place to enjoy breakfast or a really nice coffee or maybe a pint or some lovely food. Staff all super friendly recommend.

3rd time meeting as a family for dinner here. We love it. Food is fresh and really tasty. Staff have always been amazing. Today we were served by Brad who went above and beyond (including a phone call to let us know we left an unopened birthday card behind). It’s dog friendly which is great (even if ours let us down!). Well worth a visit for brunch, lunch or dinner as it’s a really good independent restaurant with a great menu.

Went for a visit today with my family and we had an issue prior that left us worried we'd be late for our table reservation. The team were so understanding, kind and patient with us as we waited for the whole party to arrive. The food was okay, though I'd hoped for freshly made pancakes. The coffees were fantastic and so was the atmosphere and the service, so warm and welcoming even in the chaos of Christmas and packed tables. Overall a great experience, the staff made it so, thanks!

Best gluten free pizzas ever! Normally gluten free bases are rubbish, but these are the best! They also do good vegan cheese. Only thing to note is that gluten free pizzas are cooked in the same oven as the gluten ones, so if you have a severe allergy then sadly this won’t be for you. Lovely staff and great atmosphere. My favourite place to go in Harrogate!
