π 1.1 miles from EnviroVent Stadium
Handy for matchdays: itβs a central Harrogate pub within a short walk of the railway station (listed at about 550m), so it works well as a pre-match meet-up for travelling supporters. The refurb added screens that show sport, so you can catch early kick-offs or results before/after the game. The kitchen serves food with clearly published service times, making it easy to plan a proper meal or bar snacks around the fixture. From the town-centre bus station, routes 7 and X70 go to the EnviroVent (Wetherby Road) Stadium, so getting to the ground after a pint is straightforward.
Stopped in with the deerhounds on a day trip to Harrogate. What a surprise! The Fuel Salad with salmon was excellent. The dogs were treated as royalty. Dog treats, beds to lay on. The barman was warm and genuine. Atmosphere was great. Firmly recommended. Will return.
What an amazing business! Staff went above and beyond in making sure we were comfortable and had all of our needs met! The food was spectacular as were the drinks . The best aspect of the whole experience was how our dog was also treat as a genuinely valued customer! She got a bed, bowls and treats as well as being served what we couldnβt finish from our meal! This was the inky place which would allow us to book a table and allow a dog with us. All of the others venues we tried (and there was a few) would allow us to book a table and we had to turn up and hope we could be seated and served food in the designated areas where dogs were allowed. Would definitely return and recommend time and time again.
Casta thinks we came here about 10 years ago? Anyway, Jorvic likes this well fettled pub opposite the West Park. Good choice of local beers. I had the locally brewed Daleside Blonde. Five real ales on handpump out of six max on our visit. Another Cask Marque pub. Upstair area for dining. Downstairs for both drinking and eating. ( HARTLEPOOL HADDOCK!, didn't know they still had a fishing fleet.)
Really disappointed, we reserved a table with a Pooch for Valentines weeks in advance, only to turn up on the evening to be told we couldn't eat in the restaurant! No one called or emailed to say we would have to sit downstairs where large groups were drinking, plus we'd have to sit by the door! The manager couldn't even be bothered to come and speak to us when we decided to leave and hope we could find somewhere else. For our First time in Harrogate, we will definitely not be coming back to this venue.
Very good fish and chips, house beer and friendly staff!
