i went in for a quick pint, when i got to the bar i was served by a very abrupt rough woman who i believe to have been the landlady, when i told her what i wanted to asked for ID, or more like demanded it, again very abrupt, this was when i realised i had left my wallet in the car and sad id go to get it to which she said no your lying im not serving you, this was then followed by her husband getting involved and both shouting and swearing over the bar at me at an attempt to embarrass me. i am genuinely 18 and had no problem with showing my ID however i had just left it in the car. Some people need teaching how to run a business and need a bit of a lesson in customer service!!
Amazing place to go, all year round, even more so now with warm weather and a brilliant beer garden, nice and clean, lot's for kids climbing frame, football nets, outside pool table and darts board, also outside Tv and music. Decent price's and good choices.
nice pub and lovely beer garden but had an incident in the beer garden,beautiful evening out with friends including one toddler and one heavily pregnant lady. Chose a spot near the space for kids to play as the toddler likes to play there and always heads for there. That’s where the lovely evening ends. A group of kids where playing with a football absolutely smashing it around completely unaware of people close by, the ball hit me twice before the rest of my group even arrived. As the evening went on the ball flew over to our table many times. No one told the kids to calm it down a little. Eventually one of our group after being almost hit in the face said to the kids can you calm it down a little. That’s when the dads I presume decided to get involved, started telling us we were sat by a football pitch! Sorry I thought it was a FAMILY pub garden, we got told we should move away. I said can’t we show a bit of mutual respect to which the kids piped up that we didn’t show them respect. We then unfortunately had a bit of an altercation with the dads who didn’t seem bothered that the ball had hit a few of us including the pregnant girl. We should have moved to a different table! Eventually we just stopped speaking to them as we were getting nowhere the kids carried on and the dads just stood and laughed. When the landlord came out we mentioned the situation to him who’s attitude was 🤷🏻♂️what can I do they can play with the ball I’m not going to speak to anyone about it, absolutely top class customer service! We finished our drinks and left to go to the miners just behind the grey horse and what a difference we were made welcome and felt really comfortable,we’ve found our new family friendly beer garden.
