The Dove Inn is a popular matchday venue located just a five-minute walk from Oakwell Stadium, making it an ideal spot for both home and away supporters. The pub features a spacious rear beer garden and veranda that overlooks the stadium, providing a comfortable setting for fans to gather before and after matches. It offers live football coverage on Sky Sports, enhancing the matchday experience. Additionally, the pub serves a Sunday carvery, with booking recommended, and provides a selection of real ales from Old Mill Brewery, including Blonde Bombshell and Westgate Bitter. The welcoming atmosphere and proximity to the ground make it a favored choice for fans attending Barnsley FC games.
Popped in as an away fan prior to the match. Great pub, extremely welcoming to away fans despite being a home fan pub ( decor etc). Thanks for being so friendly. 2-0 to the mighty Imps too!
Argyle on tour!! A chilly snowy day in Barnsley. We all met in The Dove. Super pub. Really welcoming for away fans. Even stood outside directing away fans on where to park ! Amazing. Good pint of Yorkshire bitter, excellent service considering it was so busy. Not far to the ground either. Full of hope for a good result....but we got stuffed!! Ah well....back to sunny Devon and the sea...
Exeter fan, drove up and came here for a pre-match pint and had homemade pie with gravy, and a chip butty on the side. Brilliant stuff, staff were friendly and seemed like a nice family run pub.
We absolutely adore the Dove inn since it's changed ownership. The fresh lick of paint and the new artwork is brilliant and adds to the atmosphere. We have been in a few times since opening, including once with the kids for some games of pool. The place is spotlessly clean, feels lovely and homely and the staff are so nice and friendly. We have heard good things about the Sunday carvery but not had the chance to try it yet. If nothing else, what a fantastic local, we will certainly be back for more family pool nights and casual drinks as a couple. Great work by the new owners!
Great football pub (though Posh lost)
