📍 2.4 miles from Vitality Stadium
Listed in away-fan pub guides as a friendly pre-match spot, the Goat & Tricycle suits travelling supporters looking to gather before heading to the Vitality. It's in central Bournemouth, just minutes from The Triangle, making it easy to reach from town-centre transport and then continue to the ground. The pub shows live sport (including football), so you can catch the early/late kick-offs, and it offers proper meals with set kitchen hours—useful for lining up before the match. It's also well known for a broad cask-ale range, which is a frequent draw for matchday meet-ups.
Had a couple of visits here and can't fault the quality and selection of real ales. Haven't eaten yet, but might give it a go. Friendly enough clientele, and good service from the bar. Worth a look.
What a wonderful gem! Felt like a true pub on the approach. As soon as you step inside there is a truly warm welcome. Exceptionally clean. Wow. I mean, they really care about quality and experience. Even the break fire alarm point was clean. Yep, im was trying to gind fault. A picture of a lady( someone important to the pub ) placed centrally on the mantlepiece, caught my eye and already matched the atmosphere. A warm smile shines through this picture. The staff all adopting this. I was made to feel like one of the locals. When the pub started to fill this continued. I ordered an IPA and a roast. If I was in death row. A roast would be my last meal. Well, I would ask this pub to provide it! Best meat and veg, best gravy, best, potatoes, best yorkie and oh my sweet jesus, the cauliflower cheese... all over it. Wow. This pub is and fantastic. The entertainment nights look really intriguing, so much so, I want to get back to Bournemouth sooner that I would have ever thought. Fantastic time. Messaged countless people telling them to get here if they are in the area. Its a must.
I came in for a beer and stayed for lunch. As a woman on my own I was welcomed and had a chat with the lady behind the bar. Food (katsu chicken sandwich with chips) was good and the beers were better!
We have been there years ago and today we finally were able to visit again (we are holiday makers from Germany). Everything is as original and authentic like we knew it. A Pub where everybody gets a warm welcome so you feel comfort and save from the moment you enter the Pub. Great range of Ales and also good other beers (Lager). We had the Rabbit Pie (with mash, vegetables) and Sausage & Mash, both served with marvellous gravy. Delicious and "honest" food. We will often think back to this lovely place, the food and drinks - and to you: best staff ever. Thanks. Hope we meet again next year.
Popped in for a late Sunday lunch. A limited selection of food is on offer. We chose the beef, pork, and vegetarian mushroom options. Food arrived quickly, and the portion size was good. Importantly, this pub is dog-friendly. Wheelchair access is via a side gate. Good accessible toilets. Very friendly and helpful staff. Their regular menu has a wide choice. Would recommend
