A handy pre-match stop: it's 850m from Bournemouth railway station and on major bus routes, so it's easy to get to and from Vitality Stadium. The pub often opens early on AFC Bournemouth home matchdays (with cheese rolls on the bar) and has shown live sport (e.g., rugby) on TV, creating a match-build-up atmosphere. Craft-forward and constantly changing beer and cider lines appeal to fans looking for quality pints before or after the game. Crowd reports suggest a mix of home fans and visiting supporters use it on matchdays, making it a friendly neutral spot for groups.
Fantastic little hidden pub with perhaps the best craft beer selection in all of Bournemouth. Beer range with 13 beers on tap four of which are cask - great mix of styles as well. Proper old pub with a fantastic atmosphere amd absolutely lovely bar staff and a great crowd.
The Firkin Shed is a small micro pub that has a great choice of draught/ bottle beers, ciders, mead, spirits. It doesn't do food as it is too small. It just has snacks. It has three areas inside and two outside. The toilets have toilet paper/air freshener/ electric hand dryers in. It is a cosy place with a good atmosphere. I would definitely go again for a couple of pints with friends.
Loved this place.. Fitted a couple of visits in over a long weekend and if I'd returned from a run in time on the Sunday it would have been 3. 4 v well kept beers on hand pull that change regularly and many more keg options. Full of friendly people and a nice hubbub.
Best pub I've been to in a log log time. Non of the city-boy nonsense, just good beer and a very warm welcoming atmosphere. Worth going out of your way for.
Quirky and spooky...ππ» the two words that i think would best describe this pub. I can tell with certainty that it's very different to the pubs that you been to before. They don't serve the mainstreamπΊ but the ales that they do are just awesomeπ€π» the place is littered with random objects and artifacts that add to its character. They dont serve food, but should you get peckish, there are plenty of takeaways nearby. As it's quite a small place, better air conditioning would be great.
