π 0.9 miles from Vitality Stadium
A handy pre-match stop: it's a short stroll from Bournemouth rail/coach/bus interchange and close to the Vitality Stadium, so it works well for travelling supporters. CAMRA notes it's popular with both home and away fans, and local supporters also recommend it as a pre/post-match option. The pub shows TNT Sports, so you can catch early/late kick-offs around your game. Real-ale options (often including London Pride plus rotating guests) add to the matchday appeal.
Popped in here a few times after staying nearby for a few days. One of the group has mobility issues and staff & customers all very helpful. Nice traditional pub thatβs having a little tidy-up with decorating going on
Decent ale in a glass. Matchday with gone and away fans. No bother. Public bar for the locals and another busy bar area. But plenty of seating. No longer in the Good Beer Guide but three cask on and mine tasted fine. Worth visit if you are in the area.
The only real pub in Springbourne, one of the oldest in Bournemouth. The Cricketers has a lovely warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff and customers are very welcoming it has fruit machines and a good Jukebox on a Sunday they have card bingo and a meat π raffle. With plenty of outdoor seating. They don't do food on a regular basis but occasionally when advertised. I will definitely be back
Good old fashioned pub with a range of beers and lagers. Good pub for rematch drinks on way to Vitality Stadium. Only downside was poor barmaid was on her own serving a packed pub.
Probable the last real pub in Bournemouth, the Cricketers has a fascinating history and has recently been beautifully renovated to create a comfortable, traditional, welcoming local. Often holds food or beer festivals. Worth a visit to see and feel local atmosphere and history.
