About this Pub

O’Neill’s Bournemouth

Why it's great for Matchdays

In the town-centre on Old Christchurch Road, O'Neill's Bournemouth is a sports-focused pub showing live football on Sky Sports and TNT Sports, with fixtures promoted on its dedicated football/sport pages—useful for early kick-offs and post-match viewing. WhatPub also notes a large screen for sport and that it's close to Bournemouth railway station and bus routes, making it practical for matchday travel. Food is served daily (listed menus and kitchen hours to 10pm), so groups can eat pre- or post-game without moving on.

Absolutely loved this place. The staff were absolutly brilliant from the start! made us feel welcome and were very helpfull. Drinks were a good price (happy hour) The music that was on in the background was my taste (brilliant !) just overall a brilliant bar. It was the first and last place we went to when visiting. Definitly will be visiting again.

Delicious mega Irish breakfast, amazing value. Nice atmosphere, quiet morning/afternoon and not far from the train station.

Easy to find a seat, even on a Friday evening. Place was very warm for midsummer—no fans in sight, which made it a bit uncomfortable. The barman seemed quite miserable… a smile wouldn’t hurt! Menus had quirky wording, which I absolutely loved. Food arrived hot, tasty, and portion sizes were just right. Peas were undercooked, but the steak was done exactly as requested. Gammon was lovely—not fatty—and the chips were great too. Drinks come in either small or large, which felt a bit odd. The music? Fabulous. A fun, nostalgic mix of oldies—none of the usual chart stuff, which was refreshing! Would visit again!

Amazing service at O’Niells, high quality food with reasonable prices for both food and drinks, all staff are outstanding! And really pride themselves in the service they provide, the pub has always got entertainment on with great atmosphere especially for the 6 nations 🏉 two staff members that have always gone above and beyond are Finn and Klaire who are continuously on shift working hard with similes always on their face and are always up for a quick chit chat to the locals, O’Niells is definitely a favourite of mine 🙂
