Nice traditional pub, gets a little crowded so you may have to wait for a place to sit and eat. However the staff do their best to accommodate everyone and you can always book in advance. If you just want a drink then there is always some space available. The food was good, piping hot and served quickly by friendly staff. If you like to eat and drink in a cosy, traditional and welcoming pub this may be a place for you to try.

We were delighted to have Christmas lunch at the Punch Bowl! The food was absolutely delicious! The hosts so welcoming and obliging. We were a family of 8 travelling from Australia, different dietary requirements and just a lot of people to accommodate but it was seamless! The table was set so beautifully with little games and treats and it will be a memory our family will keep forever. Thankyou so much to the staff from front of house to back of house - you made us feel so welcome and super Christmassy! Sorry for the delay in our review - we have only just returned home from our UK holiday but our York Christmas Lunch at Punch Bowl is an absolute highlight! Thankyou

We had an absolutely stunning meal, at The Punch Bowl. Emma, Stuart and Maddie were fantastic hosts and Fran, Laura and Jaime in the kitchen were incredible (the extra Yorkshire puddings were a plus) The Punch Bowl is a usual haunt for us when we are in York but this was a fantastic meal and service throughout.

This is a great very old pub with lots of history and apparently ghosts as well πŸ‘». We ate lunch here which was lovely (home made meat pies are delicious). Inside the pub keeps all its original 300 plus year character. The staff were very attentive and the atmosphere was nice. 3 drinks and three main course meals Β£80 which is very good value. Well worth a visit.

My partner and I enjoyed an incredible Christmas Day lunch at the punchbowl. Despite the pub being fully booked out, we received excellent service and the three course meal was amazing!!! We also appreciated how the pub was beautifully decorated and the Christmas games provided. Would highly recommend!
