Stayed for one night as was away for work. Checked in smoothly. Is around a 10 min walk from the car park which cost £22.50 a night so maybe don’t park in the one they suggest on the website! Room really nice, a little on the dark side as all the bulbs are dim. Don’t expect a lie in as there’s lots of noise in the morning and being an old building is creaky. I ordered room service which was super easy with a QR code and very prompt! Breakfast was10/10, black pudding absolutely delicious! Would return

We have just spent 2 lovely nights here & we thoroughly enjoyed it. The location is perfect for York centre & right next to the minster. They have a nice bar area serving good real ale & the garden out back looked terrific for when there is better weather. We had a lovely breakfast on both mornings. Only slight niggle was that our room was very dark. Most of the bulbs in the main light were not working. Despite that it’s still worth booking.

Spotted the Fat Badger on a lovely walk around the city walls and decided to make a stop. It was very busy (owing to its excellence) but the manager was very welcoming and attentive and she sat us quickly in a cosy room downstairs. I had fish and chips with delicious crispy batter and tartar sauce. Fantastic service, food and atmosphere. Credit to the managers and staff. I’ll be back in the summer to enjoy a drink in their fantastic beer garden.

We booked Fat Badger after friends had stayed and recommended it. We booked the Superior room and were given Room 9 at the top overlooking the garden. Just a 10 minute walk to the station, we arrived early and the staff were so friendly and took our luggage to our room and also brought it down again when we left.||Having booked for our Anniversary and this mentioned on our booking it was a tad disappointing that there wasnt a little touch to recognise this. We had breakfast each morning at Fat Badger and also booked a dinner too on our first night and ordered drinks in the Secret Garden all of which were superb and we couldn't have been looked after any better. Room serviced to perfection and everyone we encountered was so friendly||My only negative is that the room is a bit dark and could do with a central light or another lamp, and perhaps chocolates instead of the sweets would be more to our taste.||Ideally located for all the sights. We had a lovely stay and beautiful weather too

We had a lovely Sunday roast here. We went at around 13.45, and although good, the roast (chicken, beef) felt reheated. Portions are good, and the prices are slightly higher than you'd want - though I guess it has to do with the location. Staff was nice as well. One small note of improvement: my roast only had 1 half potato, it would be nice to at least add a bit more potatoes for the price, potatoes aren't that expensive I guess! And would make the whole dish feel a bit more filling. Oh, and make sure you download their app, though you won't be able to redeem the 100 points you get for registering, as you would need at least 200 points to redeem. We will probably be back again. Overall, we paid around £25 per person for 3 roasts and 2 beers in total.
