The only positives here are the price and the food. I didn't see a single staff member smile once during my visit. The person who sat me just pointed at the table and sent me over on my own. I stood at the bar for a few minutes while 3 staff chatted at the glass washer before the manager asked one to serve me. I asked for a couple of changes to the meal (remove peas and chips and replace with salad) - it came out with peas! Asked for them to be removed and the girl had put the plate back down with the peas removed before checking it wasn't an allergy! Nothing had been moved to make the plate look full, just an empty space where the peas once were. The young lad who came to check on me had no personality and didn't smile while talking to me. Was ready to move on before my reply. At one point, 4 staff and the manager were stood chatting by the bar...but tables were dirty, everywhere seemed sticky... A couple arrived and were sent to the far end of the restaurant to find their own table without anyone actually showing them to it! Otfelt like a caravan park social club. The only saving grace was that the food was very tasty and for a good price. I try not to expect much but this place lacks the bare minimums of customer service in my opinion. With a bit of staff training and on-shift training from the manager, it could be a fantastic place.
Love it here! We come every Wednesday for curry night and come with family / friends over the weekend too. So much on the menu, big variety of food and drinks. Great service and the staff are super friendly. Kelly in particular is amazing and goes above and beyond for everyone! :)
This was a really friendly pub ! My wife and myself both had the cheese and bacon burger which was fantastic ! We were both extremely impressed with the generous portions and value for money. Even the drinks were very reasonable too. This was our first visit here and Iβll definitely be back !
Absolutely awful. Ordered drinks, pint of San Miguel,(nice pint),glass of wine which came in a wet dripping glass from the washer I presume. Ordered food,2x chicken skewers ,sweet potato fries, corn on the cob and chilli sauce. Whilst waiting for food,I went to the bar, after eventually getting the barmans attention, who was too busy on his mobile, Ordered a small glass of lemonade, but told they only do one size(pint), Food arrived, Luke warm, asked for sauce which had been forgotten and butter for corn on cob, sweet potato fries were stuck together in solid lump. Waitress did ask if everything was OK and we replied about the cold food, she did offer to have food re microwaved but we declined as had been waiting a while. Hurriedly ate the cold food( butter didn't even melt). A young waiter cleared our table and did ask if everything had been OK, but we obviously gave a negative response ,he was very apologetic, but should had reported this to the duty manager. My partner always gives a tip for service etc.But not this time. Our Tips to the management. Make sure all glasses are clean and dry. Invest in some small glasses for soft drinks( so as a customer you don't pay for something you don't require). Make bar staff aware not to use mobiles. MAKE SURE FOOD SERVED IS HOT(it's not rocket science).
Just had breakfast at the Bell in Yeovil.Iryna, our server could not have been nicer. The place was sufficiently warm and welcoming, the food nice, service great and the price is a bargain. I take my mum out for breakfast on a Sunday morning and I think the Bell will be a regular establishment for us.
