West Road Tap is a micropub located approximately 769 meters from Westcliff railway station, making it easily accessible for matchday visitors. The venue offers a rotating selection of craft beers and ciders, including local and national options, and hosts events such as beer tastings. While it does not specifically cater to football fans, its proximity to public transport and its focus on quality beverages make it a potential spot for pre- or post-match gatherings.
My favourite local craft beer spot. Lovely cozy atmosphere. Constantly changing beers every week. Staff are super friendly & knowledgable, a welcoming environment whether with friends or solo. Nice little courtyard out front thatβs a bit of a sun trap sometimes. Really affordable pricing too. Always a good variety of ever changing IPAβs, sessions, stouts, ales, etc. Havenβt tried the Bunker yet but will do soon. Bar snacks are good but they let you eat Oldhams from over the road inside/outside. Will continue coming here, one of my favourite places in Southend area.
Only there briefly and had a lovely pint of Helles. Service was efficient and friendly. Atmosphere was buzzing and cosy at the time with no spare seats.
Cracking little micropub. When I visited there were 4 Azvex beers on tap: I had the pale, IPA and stout. IPA was fantastic, soft and juicy and not giving away it's 6.8%. The stout was lovely too with chocolatey, peanut butter and coffee goodness.
This place is the best testimony where this area is headed, friendly, laid back, excellent customer service and an interesting concept. The guys have a fantastic knowledge about beers and welcomes everyone. Went on a Sunday afternoon and had a great time and tried some fantastic beers.
Went on a Thursday evening so fairly quiet. Nice selection of beers (although less than usual on the day we went as they were expecting a delivery the next day). Friendly and chilled atmosphere. Food wise just peanuts, crisps etc, although I hear you can bring your own in. Would recommend.
