The Spread Eagle (Southend)
The Spread Eagle is a popular pre- and post-match venue for Southend United supporters, located just a short walk from Roots Hall. The pub serves classic pub fare, including juicy burgers, hot dogs, and fish finger wraps, and features a selection of real ales, including Greene King IPA and Sharp's Doom Bar. On a short stay in Southend earlier this week and went to this pub on Monday night and Tuesday lunchtime. Monday I was too late for food, but they didn't mind me bringing in a takeaway and having a couple of pints there. It was relatively quiet at the time. Enjoyed putting a few tunes on the Jukebox and eating my supper and downing several ciders. Decided to drop in for lunch on Tuesday and had a fish finger wrap. My one or two ciders turned into four! Again, kept queueing up songs on the jukebox. Several parties of locals in, all very friendly and welcoming. Would happily drop in the next time I'm back in Southend, and were I ever to move to the area would be very happy for this to be my local.
