Was rammed when I came here last, but for good reason. Cheap food, meal deals, cheap beers with lots of choice. Plenty of seating, booth, table, outdoor, sports screen views and orders can be done on the app to save wasting time queuing at the bar. Our food was good. Went for the small plates deal and a jacket as well were hungry. Halloumi fries are great 👌 Toilets are better than they used to be.
Been to this gem last night. Tried their famous e for 10 pounds. Genuinely surprised with quality and quantity.
The afternoon deal is not very good The new Steak and ale pudding is not as good as the original steak and kidney pudding and red wine gravy adds nothing to the taste the best thing was the pint of beer I had. I also think there is a bit of Shrinkflation going on?? I gave it 1 star for atmosphere as it was a bit like a zoo when we were there.
Stayed here the night & loved every minute. The pub is huge with 2 bars on the ground floor & accomodation accessed at the far end. Room was huge with a nice shower/bathroom & a comfy bed. Decor reflected the history of the building as an old Royal Mail sorting office. Food was great. Got a really good deal on a small mixed grill & Stella for £9.00. Bargain. Parking 100 yards away was £9.30 for 24 hours. What more could you want???
⭐⭐⭐⭐ Reliable, Affordable, and Perfectly Located The Last Post is exactly what you’d expect from a great Wetherspoons — reliable, affordable, and consistent. You know what you’re going to get, and that’s part of the charm. The food is decent, the drink selection is solid, and the prices are hard to beat, especially compared to nearby options. The location couldn’t be better — right next to Southend Central train station — making it a super convenient stop whether you’re just arriving in town or heading out. It’s a large venue, so there’s usually space to sit, though it can get packed in the evenings, especially on weekends. Mornings are much quieter and perfect if you’re after a relaxed breakfast or coffee. Overall, it’s a classic Wetherspoons experience: nothing flashy, but it does exactly what it promises. Great value and a reliable go-to in Southend.
