We hired the function room for an art class and had a wonderful experience. The room was clean, cosy, and beautifully decorated for Christmas, which created the perfect atmosphere for our event. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always available when we needed something. Our guests felt comfortable, and everything ran smoothly. Thank you for providing such a lovely space — we’re looking forward to hosting more events here.
Staff friendly and welcoming. Service fast and delivery of the food/drinks very good. Venue clean and pleasing. Food good and portions big. Only downside is that the car park behind the pub is small and difficult to access and car parking spaces are tight to get into.
Food is always hot, tasty and huge portions! One meal and I’m set for the day. I absolutely love the effort made on the Sunday roasts - super tender meats, perfect roasts, thick gravy, huge yorkshires and raising the bar on the veg with creamy leeks and braised carrots! Definitely not a pre frozen or aunt Bessie’s bargain lunch! Service is generally fast and friendly but I do book in advance so that probably helps. Pub/dining area generally clean and bright and if the table needs a wipe the staff are helpful. Only downside I have experienced on the odd occasion is the noise that can come from boisterous groups, or people through in the bar, who aren’t mindful of others around them which doesn’t get dealt with by staff; but I suppose it’s a risk when you eat in a busy town pub (rather than a quiet country inn!)
Hired the function room for my daughters baby shower. Their was a member of staff ready to help at every moment. We had cream teas, there was such a great about of food. The food was so fresh, unlimited teas and coffee and bar services too. My friend who has allergies was highly catered for. So so impressed with the care they take in the kitchen. It was a lovely evening and my daughter left very happy and that's wat l aimed for. Claire and her husband were so accommodating and helpful. I want to say thank you to the bar staff Angie of course and to Claire who listeneded and got everything perfect.Thank you all, you never let me down. 5 stars xxx
The best roast dinner I’ve had in ages. All freshly cooked and not a frozen veg in sight, all fresh. Lovely and hot. Ample portions and good variety of veggies.
