This Hungry Horse pub shows live football with access to Sky and TNT, plus a fixtures section and table booking for big games—handy for pre-match meet-ups or watching the early/late kick-offs. Big screens and a dedicated sports focus create a matchday atmosphere, and there are promos such as the Greene King Sports app offering 10% off selected drinks for an hour before, during and after live events. As Carlisle United’s official guidance notes, away fans can generally use any city pub except a couple designated home-only, so this is a practical neutral spot to mix with home fans and catch the action with food and drinks deals.
Came after work on Sunday. Got a duo roast with a few extras. Bargain for the money, Thai and India were great. will be coming back
Good points it’s a pub it serves food and drink the staff are good We went in and asked for Wimbledon to be put on and it was on before we sat down love it thank you! Has outside seating in front and back and pool table. Not so good points , the meal deal only includes certain drinks have to add money for others . No ales just lager and stout. The dinner was not same as picture no carrots which they said were out of season had cauliflower instead of . Not so good points , the pubs decoration is very dated and musty smell throughout. The roast was adequate but not filling had to eat some of mums, the gravy spuds were good everything else average.
A good value pub offering a varied menu, with special offers turning good value into great value. We ordered the classic fish & chips with mushy peas, usually £9.29, which I think is good value, but during our visit it was on special offer at just £6.00, which meant we spent less than £10 each for the meal and a pint of beer, which is great value! The pub itself was okay. The decor and furniture looked a bit tired but there was some interesting artwork on the walls. And I couldn't fault the staff who were friendly and gave good service. Sadly, there was no cask ale on offer, only keg.
Got charged a hundred quid to park in the car park when I went for lunch, never told at any point to put registration in, didn’t see any signs, rang up to tell them I wasn’t impressed and could they cancel the fine and they said I had to pay it because I’d complained. Won’t be back. Ever. Look at the manager pretending I was shouting and being aggressive below in their reply and backtracking, all nonsense, obviously no one wants to get a £100 charge for parking in the pub car park. Then denying they were telling me that I have to pay the fine. They've sold their car park to some shark parking outfit so they can try to make some money instead of just being a better pub and actually trying to look after people. Sick of this behaviour trying to rip people off through underhanded tricks then pretending it's all because the customer did something wrong. Just horrible profiteering from dirty business. No wonder no one goes to the pub any more.
Great food, unreal service, brilliant atmosphere, could not recommend more. Jakub was such a great guy he had us laughing all the way back to the car. Thank you for your commitment to the job india, thai and of course the star of the night jakub. We will be back
