📍 0.3 miles from Brunton Park
Lakeland Gate is convenient for Brunton Park: Carlisle United advise taking the no. 63 bus from the city centre and alighting at the Lakeland Gate Inn, from where the stadium is a short walk. The pub serves food (including breakfasts and a Sunday carvery), which suits pre-match or post-match plans, and it has on-site parking for those driving on matchdays. The club’s away-fan guide states that, in general, travelling supporters can use any pub in Carlisle except the Caledonian and the Beehive, so Lakeland Gate is typically a neutral option for both home and away fans.
1st among equals when it comes to a carvery but advisable to book a table whether you're a guest at the Premier Inn next door or just a passing walk in.The food is delicious along with the service which at times can be busy .The bar offers a wide selection of alcohol drinks as well as soft drinks. Its very family friendly and a heck of a lot better and safer than the 2 Wetherspoon pubs in the city centre on a weeend. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Wow! Absolutely fantastic. Visited with my partner and 8yr old daughter, lovely reception from staff, with particular mention to a waitress who supplied my daughter with a colouring/quiz book and crayons, then returned with another that had different quizzes! And she got given a paper hat, too! Very attentive, the (i believe manager, or something similar) even came over to ask if I needed any more gravy! It's little things like this that will make you return again and again. Quick service, food was lush, huge portions, well worth the money. Absolutely recommend! Fab.
Spent 3 weeks here (for business) the food was very good when they had it. Unfortunately most of the time a large portion of the menu was unavailable. One signiture dish was unavailable for the whole 3 weeks I was there. However the staff were very helpful and friendly.
Were here for a family christmas meet up with family .we could not put a tab on card which caused a lot of hassle as they were 18 of us .so we had to order drinks separately being a big family then they were starters and main course which took alot of time as my mother in law as dementia so we waited a while while we were having our starter the supervisor manager came over and said this table is prebooked from 3pm when I booked table in September that was not mentioned .of this As a customer this should of being said on the website or over phone when we booked my self and my husband felt like we were insulted by brewster bears and the manager I will not return ever The food you gave us was disgusting the child's meal 5 chips for little chicken nuggets cum on how many beans not even a teaspoon Manager awful needs to go to catering management course foid awful drinks cocktail don't go here awful spoiled our family christmas meet up
Visited family today and called for dinner with someone who actually works for the company. Being in the hospitality trade ourselves it was a pleasure to receive such great service. Food came out piping hot , all plates came at the same time and the table staff were excellent. Will definitely return when visiting again.
