Centrally located on Fisher Street behind the Town Hall, The Kings Head is easy for match-going fans to find in Carlisle city centre. It serves lunchtime food until 3pm (Mon–Sat), useful for a pre-match bite, and is recommended in an away-fans travel guide for Carlisle United, indicating it’s a suitable spot for visiting supporters. Listings also show it as close to the railway station, handy for those arriving by train. A football city guide additionally notes a TV screen inside, adding to its matchday appeal for keeping up with scores before or after the game.
Bit loud but it is a pub so this is to be expected, they made us food even though they were almost finished for the day. The food arrived quickly enough and tasted nice, the burger and pie were lovely but the chips were a bit crispy for our taste. The staff were lovely and friendly, I would definitely recommend it.
This pub is off the richter scale! It was SO good, one of those that I wished I lived nearer as I'd be a regular. I don't suppose I could up sticks and move 300 miles oop norf, but I am considering it. It was that good.
Consistently the pub in the Border City serving well kept, cask conditioned beers over at least the last 10 years - Chapeau
Made it to Carlisle with my hubby! 🧳💑 We did a quick stroll around the town – and guess what? The cathedral was closed again 😅⛪️ So now it's time to chill at the local gem, The Kings Head Pub 🍻✨ Cheers to mini adventures and happy city breaks! 🌆❤️ #CarlisleVibes #PubTime #CityEscape
We had the smaller portion of fish and chips which was absolutely outstanding. The chips are triple cooked so crispy the fish was fabulous. The ales are always well kept. The staff are lovely and welcoming. This is certainly a great pub.
