This Flaming Grill/Greene King pub actively promotes live football with Sky Sports and TNT Sports and a fixtures page, so you can watch Premier League, EFL and European games on big screens. It’s food-led with an all-day menu and stated serving hours, making it practical for pre-match meals or post-game refuels. The site also lists a car park and even ‘coaches accepted’, which helps groups travelling on matchdays. Carlisle United’s official away-fan guidance says that, in general, travelling supporters can use any pub in the city except the Caledonian and the Beehive (home-only), so Gosling Bridge functions as a neutral spot for both sets of fans. Put together, it’s a convenient base in Carlisle to meet, eat and watch the day’s football around a visit to Brunton Park.
A well-done experience, although I ordered a medium-rare ribeye. The burger felt like eating plain minced meat, though the chips were really great.
Good food, friendly staff, good atmosphere, will visit again😊
A great local chain pub that serves a good range of pub food at bargain prices. Popular with quite a lot of pre-booked tables at around 4pm on a Wednesday. Probably wise to book if you want to guarantee a table. Nice outdoor seating area and not much noise from adjacent busy A7 road. Ordered on the app. Food arrived after only a short wait. We both really enjoyed our lasagna and steak pie. Friendly staff. All good. We'll be back. Nice to see you allow dogs.
Family of five , We had a lovely meal and staff friendly as usual. We keep coming back here as value for money is spot on. my elderly mother took ill, she became overheated and fainted at the table. We all panicked and called an ambulance. The staff were all very helpful but the assistant manager was fantastic, the People on tables around us were moved and our table was blocked off , She was definitely on top of her game. She stayed with us all until the ambulance arrived, keeping us calm and asking if we need anything else. Thank you and we apologize for the stress we caused for you all. See you soon, hopefully no drama next time 🫣
Staying at the joining Premier Inn this is a great place to eat,it being a traditional pub whilst being part of a national chain. It can be quite busy on the weekends and had a lively Halloween night during my stay The service and food offers great value for money without sacrificing quality and the menu is quite extensive. I had a Sunday roast beef dinner with pigs blankets and the portions were generous as well as the service. It's advisable to book on a weekend to reserve a table as its usually busy, but quiet early afternoon. .Far better than Wetherspoons and will definitely be back
