**** UPDATED REVIEW 01.26 **** Came here for my birthday meal and all the positives from before were there once more and the small negatives were not. I will keep the old review below as still very accurate but had to increase the star rating and give a little context as when something goes so well I'm happy to sing it from the roof tops. I said it below but the 5* for food is the max but not enough if I could give 10 or more I would. The servers this day were also the best. We will be having many more nights out here and can't recommend it enough! ******** The food was outstanding, I personally had chicken wings as a starter and a rare steak as a main. The wings were so well cooked and the glaze was delicious, portion size was above expectation. I would argue the steak I had was the best I've ever eaten and was cooked perfectly. If I could give this food 10 stars it would still be underselling it. The kitchen staff and the chef are a great asset to the business. There was a couple small service issues, but it was a very busy evening so can be taken into context and 99% of the time might be perfect. Overall I would highly recommend. Amazing food for a price that doesn't break the bank.
The quality of the food is excellent, Ellender's has talented chefs and support staff. Front of house and bar staff are courteous and obviously enjoy working here. The seating layout is good, not overcrowded and lends itself to a relaxed and enjoyable evening. I have been here a number of times and each time is as good as the last. Long may Ellender's continue to thrive.....thank you.
Very disappointing experience overall. Very slow service, food arrived cold, baked camembert wasn't even warm and tuscan chicken chicken was swimming in oil, the potatoes were burnt and so greasy that were inedible. My husband's burger was disgusting, bun was burnt black and meat was dry and whole dish was cold. I have quite sensitive stomach so when food is not fresh I suffer afterwards. I got diarrhea straight after returning home with horrible crumps. Whover is a cook there clearly has no skills and knowledge about food.
Great food, fresh and tasty. First time visiting, we will be returning again soon. Can't wait to try the evening food 😋 Really polite and helpful staff.
