π 1.0 miles from Boundary Park
Cob and Coal was a micro pub located within Oldham's Tommyfield Market Hall, known for its selection of six real ales, including both pale and dark varieties, as well as German lagers and real ciders. It was recognized as the CAMRA Regional Pub of the Year in 2021 and was popular among Oldham Athletic fans for pre-match drinks. The pub's proximity to Boundary Park (approximately 1.3 miles) made it a convenient stop for supporters. Additionally, food could be ordered from nearby market stalls and enjoyed within the pub's seating area. However, the pub closed permanently on May 31, 2025, due to the redevelopment of the market hall. [Sources: CAMRA, BeerVisits, WhatPub, Pubs Galore, The Sun]
This is a micro bar in the corner of the Tommyfield market. A CAMRA Good Beer Guide entry. Popped in with Madge for a pint of Avalance by Fyne Ales. One of six real ales. The bar is in a cabin like structure and there is further seating in front. They even have their own toilet for customers only. (Unlike Manchester Arndale micro bar that involves a route march.)
