Wonderful pub, really quiet ,my type of place, nice customers and nice staff, they also have some books for sale and the earnings are to support animal shelter so don't be a rat, really cheap beer by the way!
Nice friendly bar lady , beer really fresh lots of bubbles ! 🍻 Apparently the oldest pub in Newport built in the year 1530 wow ! 😮 worth a stop. I had a Samual smith pure brewed organic larger 5% really nice!
Exceptional service from Pea! Proper bar management and great customer care. An absolute gem is this young lady in this establishment that we visited for the Cavan weekend. Recommendations for the ales, lager and where my wife should try shopping for a top! Will definitely return and recommend.
Really nice traditional style pub, plenty of wood panelling and beams. Length of room inside with various rooms leading to each other. Also with seating outside. Sam Smiths beers and lagers available. Well worth a visit.
The oldest pub in Newport circa 1530. It's dimly lit with high backed wooden seats and little booths. Oak beams in places and a warm inviting atmosphere. It's a Samuel Smith's pub with old pumps on the bar and is also featured in the 2023 good bear guide. On the 1st Thursday of the month at 2pm there is a local history talk by a local resident. I loved this pub in the heart of Newport and also very close to the the railway station.
