What a breakfast definitely recommend if you are in town, large breakfast and a cuppa for less than £9. Served quickly and tasted fab.
Had a fantastic time and the Afternoon Tea was delicious and plentiful. Thank you to all the staff for their warm welcome and friendly persona. The roof garden is a must, taking you away from the city life.
We had our Works Christmas meal last night, the food was beautiful could not fault it at all. Really good value for money. The staff were lovely and the atmosphere was nice. Definitely be back. Thanks Emma and the team.
Early last year, I awarded this pub a well-deserved five-star review. Unfortunately, over the past few months the standard has declined significantly. Customer service has noticeably deteriorated, with the individuals within the local management appearing to have lost sight of the importance of good hospitality. I experienced an issue around Christmas, which I initially put down to the seasonal pressures of a busy hospitality period. Regrettably, I encountered a similar situation again today. Upon arrival Thursday, I was informed that eggs were unavailable for the large cooked breakfast due to what appeared to be a gas supply issue. No problem these things happen. I was happy to be flexible and asked if the missing eggs could be substituted with extra sausage and bacon. This request was refused, and I was told there would be no alternatives. I then asked whether the price would be adjusted given that two items were missing from the meal, but was informed I would still be charged the full amount. When I politely queried this with who i was informed was a member of the management team (EN), I was met with a grumpy dismissive and unprofessional response, including the remark that I did not have to eat there and a comment, made within earshot to a staff member, suggesting customers could still be banned, for complaining. To put this into context, I spent in excess of £500 at this venue last year, regularly meeting family for breakfast and coffee. On this occasion, I finished my cuppa tea, left, and will not be returning. I took my custom elsewhere and was welcomed warmly, highlighting just how disappointing this experience was by comparison.
