Matchdays see The Neptune open early and run home-game drinks offers for Spireites, making it a popular pre-match stop for local supporters. It’s a short walk from Chesterfield railway station (around 750m), handy for fans arriving by train, and it focuses on a wide range of rotating cask and craft beers for a quality pint before or after the game. Posts also indicate some fixtures are home-fans only, so away fans should check elsewhere on matchdays.
Great beer, excellent music, lovely staff. This is a proper pub.
First time visit with friends, never even knew it was there before Sunday! What a great place!!!! It was open mic afternoon, which was fantastic. Great selection of beers, great atmosphere, great service and all round friendly welcoming place. Thanks so much
Tam the barmaid at Neptune Inn is absolutely fantastic. From the moment you walk in, she creates such a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel like a valued regular, even if it’s your first visit. She’s incredibly friendly, attentive, and always quick to serve with a smile, even when the bar is busy. Tam clearly takes pride in her work – she remembers orders, chats comfortably with customers, and keeps everything running smoothly behind the bar. Her great sense of humour and positive energy really add to the overall vibe of the pub, making Neptune Inn a genuinely enjoyable place to relax and socialise. Excellent service like Tam’s is what keeps people coming back. She’s a real credit to Neptune Inn and deserves recognition for the brilliant job she does.
Cracking little place up a side street between houses. Amazing selection of beers and cider for such a small place. Staff are knowledgeable and helpful. Great bands on too. If you’re in the area, make a special visit and pop in. Didn’t have food so can’t comment but I am told it’s lovely.
Love the open mic night on Sunday, I've played a couple of times now and it's a great place with a great atmosphere and everyone is equal. The selection of beers is a very easy way to get extremely intoxicated in a couple of pints. Can't fault this place 1 bit and massive love to all the people there
