📍 1.2 miles from SMH Group Stadium
Town-centre spot close to bus routes and the railway station, The Burlington is set up for matchdays with multiple screens and full Sky/TNT Sports coverage—handy for early kick-offs, checking scores, or watching when you don’t have a ticket. It’s described as a central landmark and meeting point next to Vicar Lane Shopping Centre, making it an easy rendezvous before heading to the SMH Group Stadium. The pub has a working kitchen with food served through the day, useful for pre-match meals, and it has been listed locally among places showing big Chesterfield games. Overall, it’s a convenient, sport-focused base in the middle of town for fans coming by train or bus.
Microwaved, overpriced food from Iceland. Service was so slow, had the pleasure of plastic in my dinner. The dessert was like eating undercooked porridge oats, it was left completely. Nothing available on the menu, from claims of it being busy but no one was in. The lady behind the bar was nice and they did apologise profusely for the food but sadly I would not recommend nor eat here again. Stick with just serving drinks.
It used to be amazing but the only good thing about this place now is its dog friendly, overly priced drinks, very few people in and yet somehow takes over 1 hour and half for food to come out only one bar tender and even she manages to get orders wrong everytime shes got an attitude problem! Kitchen staff is never the same cook they are private hired cooks so you are never guaranteed the same dish twice. The atmosphere feels dead not friendly at all.
Last stop for a quick drink before catching up train. Outside seating good for enjoy summer days. There's enough seatings inside too. oops doesn't matter if you're the only one on counter but still you have to wait to be served because staff busy in their chat. After couple of minutes wait, I turned to be out to try another place when one of a staff called me back. Anyhow got my drink while they were keep talking and totally ignored me. No hi no bye, no thanks no smile, even robot can serve you better. All I had my drink and enjoyed it rather then think about how they served me because some places can't be visited twice.
Went in for a family meal. Not sure what to expect with previous reviews but couldn’t fault the food. Turkey Sunday roast was huge and had a proper homemade Yorkshire pudding. All 5 of us had different things but the stand out was the steak and ale pie and homemade chips on the hunters chips. Beware huge portion sizes. If that’s ok then head out for food. Compliments to the chef
Came on a very quiet weekday but took absolutely ages to order anything - although the staff were nice they didn't know how to work the tills or pull pints. Food was awful and our lemonade was poured from a flat, lukewarm bottle. I came in knowing it was going to be microwaved pub grub but this was inedible - just go to wetherspoons instead
