We popped into the Bricklayer Arms in Bromley on a Saturday and it was one of those visits that quietly reminds you why good local pubs matter. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and genuinely welcoming. Lauren was about — staff, manager, owner, whatever the title — but the title didn’t really matter. What mattered was how kind and present she was. Smiley, relaxed, and clearly someone who enjoys people. She sorted us out straight away, even offered us shoes without any fuss, and made the whole place feel easy and comfortable. The pub itself was cosy and full of good energy. There was some music on, just enough to give the room a hum without drowning anything out. Our dog was welcome too, and not just tolerated — genuinely liked. That always tells you something about a place. Nothing felt forced or performative. Just a good atmosphere, friendly people, and that rare sense that you’re welcome to stay as long as you like. Five stars. Fully recommended. Thanks to everyone there — we’ll definitely be back.
Been coming here for 10 years. Just had a refurb. Very smart place now, they've really gone to town with the place. Great choice of drinks at reasonable prices. Service great, friendly and welcoming. Nice choice of good food. Outside beer garden is a big draw since you can go out in the rain since it's a covered beer garden. They have a paid for darts game outside upstairs, didn't try it but looks interesting. Very busy at present.
Staff are always friendly and the food is really good. I have been here a few times and always have a good meal. It's great that I can take my dogs in and they are always made a fuss of with free treats and water bowls.
Cute but a little overpriced and the food isn't great. There's literally a spoons down the road so?? Also, always empty - which might be a nice vibe for some but definitely still an old man pub for now Also....so many of the regulars go on about how awful the staff are...
Enjoyed a meal and bottle of wine after an early evening walk. Staff were very friendly and service was good. A good choice of wine. The menu has a good selection starters and mains including vegetarian. Looking forward to returning for some Live Music in the coming weeks.
