Greeted by"you must be the booking" didn't bode well. Visited with a Groupon to learn there is a special Groupon menu. It is impossible to spend the value of the Groupon with a two course lunch and drink. So disappointed. The service did improve and the food was satisfactory but of course not the initial choice. The battery on the fish was very good and the Bakewell tart and custard also good but perhaps better warm. The pub is probably very popular locally especially with sport TV fans, but not to my taste. Parking in the vicinity at least at lunch time is impossible and we had to walk about a quarter of a mile. Sorry, not the experience we expected when given the Groupon.
Had a great time out at the royal oak. Staff were really friendly and the food was quick and hot considering it was busy, the chef even brought it to us himself so it wouldn't go bad under the lights. He was very polite and friendly think his name was terry. will be back soon xx
We stopped in for lunch with our dog and the staff were so lovely! Generous portions of delicious food quick service and they even gave the dog some chicken. We’ve been here before and are definitely coming back.
Had an excellent veggie roast here today. The cauliflower tart and roast squash were excellent and the veg was cooked perfectly. The staff were really attentive and friendly .
Absolutely fabulous pub towards the top of Gloucester Road. Friendly welcoming staff, spotlessly clean and comfortable interior but best of all a fabulous beer garden at the rear. I came here as part of the Cask Marque pub trail and the ale did not disappoint, highly recommended 👍
