I have been to US , Europe, Australia, Malta the main wellington mushroom I ordered was one of the worst main I ever had. First, our main came 35-40mins late. Not happy at all. Wish I could get refund on this main. I couldn’t eat anything apart from carrots on my plate. Visited second time: today our food was exceptional & delicious to our liking. Country soup of the day was excellent. Thank you for serving us .
I had a lovely experience here for a roast and lunch with my friend and really enjoyed it. We were sat at a nice table near the window as we could not eat outside. Our waiter was Andri and he was fantastic. Very polite, friendly and helpful. He was very good with my allergies and offered help with making sure my choices were ok with what my dietary preferences were. I was appreciative of that. He also gave us some tips on where to visit in Portugal when he heard us talking about that as that is where he is from. Will go again at some point, nice pub and atmosphere. Thanks.
The food here simply is not good enough. It is acceptable and nothing more. Which is such a shame because our server (young Portuguese lad) was absolutely brilliant. Chef & Brewer used to be a phenomenal brand where the quality of food was unrivalled for a pub chain but then Greene King took over and it shows. Peterborough is not spoiled for choice for great pub food so there is no real pressure for it to improve.
Great cozy atmosphere with fantastic food and friendly staff. Expected for the price paid.
