Visited the Widecombe Fair in Mansfield recently and had a really good experience. The food was decent and nicely prepared. Everything we tried was tasty and served hot, which was appreciated given how busy it was. The service was friendly and efficient. One of the staff members – I think her name was Hannah – was particularly helpful and polite, making sure everything was in order. Overall, nice atmosphere, good food and great service.
A lovely, friendly place to eat. The food is really nice and good value for money. When me and my son went, our waitress Hannah was extremely polite, professional and couldn’t help us enough as my son is autistic and has sensory needs, Hannah seen to it that he was catered for. Would highly recommend.
This is tricky. The service was fabulous, as was the food BUT the sauce with my fries had been used already. I didn't say because l didn't want a fuss, our family meal was more important. The sauce very much appeared to have already been dipped into. I put it to oneside and had mayo instead. I hope that they think twice before doing this in the future. I can't be certain. The Widdicombe Fair has easily become one of our favorite pubs in Mansfield, and that is primarily down to the great team working here. We've visited more than a few times over the years ,often during peak rushes when the staff can be overwhelmed. During these peak times the courtesy of the staff and the professionalism they show, remains constant, even when they are visibly rushed off their feet: Customers are greeted with a genuine smile, and a warm manner, one is never made to feel like "just another order." For such a young team , i feel as though they handle the chaos of a busy service with absolute grace, efficiency, and a great attitude. It creates a brilliant, welcoming atmosphere that keeps us coming back. Highly recommended—massive credit to the management and the front-of-house team!
No photo because we were to hungry to wait. Had both sharers and they were amazing. The scotch eggs and sausages rolls were so tasty. The wine was tasty and we even had a free zero beer thanks to the greene king weekend deal. Ellie and Jess were fantastic and friendly
