Just happened to mention to a friend we were going over the Mansfield(90min drive away for us. ) so we popped the destination in the sat nav & WOW this is a hidden little gem! Lovely atmosphere, warm friendly welcome from the staff & WOW WOW WOW we totally know why it was recommended! If you want home cooked quality filling food…. Look no further than! £10 menu was VALUE for money! Gorgeous food. Just wish lived closer. If we go to Mansfield again we’ll definitely go back.
Super old school pub that I'm super chuffed to have visited. Cottage pie, chips and peas.... Gravy. Served piping hot. And absolutely perfect. Real ales to choose from. Staff and customers all lovely. X Thank you very much indeed. 💪👍
Visited yesterday afternoon and found this to be a very friendly pub. The ales were in very good condition. The food menu has quite a excellent choice. The pub was clean and even one of the side rooms was undergoing redecoration. Lovely friendly staff and well worth a visit. Just don't let the exterior walls of the building put you off visiting. I have seen worse and I have also seen better. Otherwise a cracking pub and I will certainly visit again, Batemans pub never fail to disappoint! Really lovely pub. 4 cask ales available - had 2 from Full Mash which were both decent. Food is home cooked, fresh and lovely. We both had the steak and stilton pie and couldn't resist the additional giant Yorkshire for £1.50. Did have big plans for a pudding but was so full from the mains we couldn't face it. Prices really good value. A really refreshing change from overpriced gastro pub type food. Genuinely cannot recommend enough.
