Food was as expected, nothing to complain about and nothing to write home about, really nice atmosphere, well decorated place, no complaints really just a nice place to have food or drink. As youd expect really. I had a pizza, this had a very homemade taste, but was quite pleasant, nice tomato sauce, only thing id say is toppings seemed a bit odd, with their pepperoni pizza having jalapenos on it, which meant I just had a margarita.
Food drink and service was good a lot better than a year ago , definitely improved and prices are ok , 40% voucher was a bonus , will definitely go again.
We recently visited The Foxglove and unfortunately felt disappointed with our experience. The food was average for the price. I had a steak and my wife chose salmon as they had run out of sea bass. For the prices being charged, we felt the quality and presentation didn’t quite match the cost. We had previously signed up online for a discount offer, but when we mentioned it at the table, the staff member advised it wasn’t necessary to apply it, which left us confused. The pub was quite loud, even though there were quieter areas available, and guests were seated closely together in one section. The staff appeared very busy and under pressure, which affected the overall atmosphere. For the prices charged, we expected a more relaxing environment and a higher standard overall.
Ordered from the set menu and all three courses were presented well and in decent time. The servers were attentive without being intrusive. The food was very good particularly the 2 starter courses and the lamb. The steak should have been medium rare but was slightly over cooked for my liking. We both had crumble and custard for sweet which was lovely but needs more crumble and less filling lol. Overall though a very nice meal.
Such a beautiful pub! We have never been before despite living 5 mins away and it’s so lovely. We came when the Christmas decorations were up and they’ve done such a lovely job. Looks so classy and inviting. Staff are so lovely too and the food is great. 10/10 visit, will definitely be coming again!
