Open 11:00–23:00 daily with hot food served until 21:00, including a carvery, The House Martin works as a pre- or post-match meetup for Doncaster fixtures. It offers cask ale across multiple hand-pulls with regular beers like Marston’s Pedigree and Wainwright Gold, so groups can get a proper pint before heading off. Practicalities are good for travelling supporters: there’s an on-site car park and the nearest bus stop (route 376 by Wheatley Retail Park) is close by for onward travel. The pub also lists “Indoor Screens,” handy for checking scores before you leave for the ground.
Pleasantly impressed. Called in at tea time needed food. Just went for a carvery. Didn’t look all that great when we went to the carvery. But it was lovely. Plenty of meat and vegetables all hot and delicious. Would definitely come again. Very full. Saw it’s dog friendly too. Always a winner for us.
First time coming here on the 16th December 2025 Meal okay. My Burger didn’t taste much like a Burger The “Fries” shown are including the double option for an extra £2 But it was nice and hot which going off past places I’ve been to for meals, is rare at places like this. The Alcohol free drink was similar to what’s in the picture. But cost £5.50 a bottle. Bit annoyed at that as even the branded ones only cost around £1.29 in Sainsbury’s. And yes I know they have to make money What I did find absolutely disgusting is the payment Machine said about adding a tip to the cost of the purchase If you need to give your staff tips that you’re actually paying a wage to then you shouldn’t own this type of business if you cannot pay your staff a decent living wage we are not America and this I find is absolutely disgusting wanting consumers to pay a tip for a service that is already included in the price of buying the items from your Company. Without staff, you don’t have a business without customers. You definitely don’t have a business. What other businesses ask for a tip for their staff that’s similar to this 😂😂
A bad review deserves some words. First of all, the service was great. Nice friendly staff, efficient service. The beer was also nice. So now that’s out of the way, let’s get onto the food. I’m not known for leaving bad reviews, but the steak was awful. It cost over £17, so not cheap for Doncaster. I asked for rare, it was medium at best. That’s the fault of the person cooking it. The quality of the steak terrible, it was about 30% fat so that bit was uneatable, what was eatable was tasteless and tough. It should never have been accepted by the restaurant as a piece of meal that it ok to be served to customers. I understand that costs have risen, but so have the prices. I won’t be coming back.
Myself and my daughter called in while we were out. The welcome was very warm by Chris he was very welcoming and friendly he was happy to answer any questions we had with the menu. The food was lovely the atmosphere was warm.
Just back from having a carvery. My husbands gammon was very salty and he couldnt eat it. His yorkshire puddings were as flat as pancakes. My dinner was ok but have had better.
