📍 1.3 miles from Cardiff City Stadium
Right in the city centre and about a 25-minute walk from Cardiff City Stadium, this large Wetherspoon is a proven away-fan rendezvous before heading to the match. It’s very close to Cardiff Central station (roughly 250m), which makes meeting up off the train simple. The pub is huge (CAMRA notes it as a major conversion) so it can absorb big matchday crowds, and it serves food all day at value prices for a quick pre-game meal. Multiple TVs and a projector are listed on the venue page and recent reports mention football shown on several screens—handy for early kick-offs or other fixtures before/after your game. Overall, it’s a practical, wallet-friendly base that’s specifically described as hospitable to visiting supporters.
Dropped in for a quick lunch. Wide menu and the food was very good, well cooked and ample portions. Good choice of real ale at wonderfully crazy prices. The building itself has been tastefully converted from a former theatre. A long way from our home in the north of Scotland but we will certainly visit again when we are next down seeing family.
Nice looking weather spoons .. keeping the aesthetic of the original building which was a theatre. Which know legends like Richard Burton performed. Ordered the two for £8 cocktails on the weather spoons app .. easy and service was prompt. Cocktails good and well presented.
This is a big Wetherspoons that was once a run down derelict old theater cinema and bingo venue now it has some it's features restored to it's former glory days it has large bar area and plenty of seating both ground floor and upstairs were most restored features are located pleanty beer Ale larger and spirts coffee ☕ tea machines to choose from also a cocktail menu, food is a typical wetherspoons menu as it come up to Christmas l chose the festive Christmas dinner options good reasonable price waiting time is good considering the size of the place the location is excellent just quick walk from new bus station in wood street and the Cardiff central railway station there two entrances one in StMarys street the located in Wood street do be aware that this wetherspoons can very busy a lunchtime and when the Rugby international matches and concerts are taking place at the near by principality stadium
Even though it was a weekday, the place was busy and had a great atmosphere, possibly thanks to the football match being shown. The interior was stylish and well designed..
Packed out Spoons on a Saturday lunchtime, took a whole to get service of course. You can use the app, which may be quicker. Outside seating was available, it was very loud inside, so that was nice. Watching the world go by and the sights of Cardiff was great.
