Shows live football on Sky Sports and TNT Sports, so you can catch televised fixtures pre/post-match. It’s a few minutes from Leicester railway station and sits on London Road opposite Victoria Park, making it a convenient city-side meetup before heading to the game. CAMRA notes it’s handy for sports supporters, and fan threads show both Leicester supporters and visiting away fans using it on matchdays. A very large beer garden helps groups on busy fixtures, and the kitchen serves classic pub food so you can eat before kick-off.
Wanted to experience the refurb and enjoy the beer garden but the British weather ruined that. Food was good didn't rate the menu selection could be broader I feel. Jack made lots of adjustments for my fussy vegetarian friends. The bar staff were fast and lovely small bar lots of people great for the customers not sure how good for them must be a close team lol. Young lady female servers were polite and helpful All in all great pub revamped addition higher end of pubs pricing. Looking forward to being able to enjoy the garden!
We went to the re opening of The Old Horse today and it was so lovely!! The drinks were great, they have a separate line for the Guinness taps and we tried a Hugo spritz which was perfect to sit out in the beer garden and enjoy! The food was lovely too, I recommend the buttermilk fried chicken it was to die for!! We will be back soon & thank you to the team for their amazing hospitality, everyone was so nice and friendly!
I've been here a few times for a drink and lunch. Always friendly service, a good pint and choice of drinks, and no issues with the food. Good quality, good sized portions!
I haven't been here for a while. The garden revamp looks brilliant. Ordered a toastie and a pint for two of us and I can honestly say it was probably the best toastie I have eaten. Very impressed. The ale is always good here
Went here today for Sunday lunch Shambolic! We kept being moved around from different tables and the staff didn't seem to have a clue!. We were moved twice indoors as staff said tables were reserved. So we went outside and were then told we couldn't eat outside. Then we were told we could. Then we were told there was a table indoors! We had Sunday roast. Really quite the strangest roast I've ever had with frozen peas and sweetcorn in an odd cheese sauce, with leeks and some carrots. Tiny piece of chicken, hard roast potatoes, 1 small jug of gravy for 3 people. When I commented we were given a second jug of gravy. It tasted ok but seemed like the chef wasn't really familiar with what the usual Sunday roast should include. 5 out of 10 and wont be going again as for £20 it was poor value for money.
