📍 1.0 miles from King Power Stadium
City-centre location on London Road makes it a straightforward pre- or post-match stop for King Power visitors. The pub has explicitly shown live football (e.g., Women’s Euros) and promoted football-day openings, so you can catch games on TV before/after heading to the ground. Food is served daily to typical matchday-friendly hours, and it’s known for real ales, giving travelling and home fans a neutral spot to meet. Away-fan guides note most city-centre pubs accept visiting supporters, and away supporters have publicly arranged meetups here. Roughly a 15-minute walk from the stadium, it’s convenient for trains (near Leicester station) and the ground without being in the immediate home-fan hub.
Had dinner here after walking past it in the afternoon. Looked online at the menu and went back. Great selection of beers, almost a one pub 'Pub crawl'. Settled on the Lincolnshire sausages and mash with a side of onion rings. Food was good, mash was bang on but only giving a 4* as the gravy was a touch watery and I believe it should be a thick onion gravy. All washed down with a decent pint. £26-65 all in, onion rings a bit steep at £4-95 but overall good meal and good service.
I am an American traveling in Europe, and I just got to Leicester at suppertime and just wandered down to the city center looking for fish and chips and a "proper" English pub. It was like a fairy granted my wish. The building is gorgeous, the inside makes you feel as if you belong there (and is also gorgeous), the staff also make you feel like you belong there. So kind! And I tried so hard to finish all that food. My mouth wanted more, but I was not up to the task. If you ever find yourself in Leicester, don't miss this place!
This is our first visit and we truly enjoyed it! The location is perfect and there are paid parking lanes just outside the pub. Lovely interior and well organised areas to sit for a drink or eat food. On this visit we stayed inside but there's a lovely garden with heated huts! We ordered two chicken burgers that were juicy and a tasty chicken Caesar salad. Every Sunday they serve roasts, amongst regular meals, and children below 12 eat free. This is a lovely gesture and I applaud them for giving back to the local community.
This place is 50/50. Cider options are disappointingly limited. Hot drinks are not good; don’t waste your money. Food and beer are generally nice, great ambiance, and that’s why we come here often. However, service is not consistent among staff members. Some can be super warm, efficient and amazing mood makers, and some make you want to cancel the order and leave the place immediately.
Fantastic food. Great Sunday roasts. Very friendly staff and lots of seating with great garden area too.
