The King’s Head

📍 0.8 miles from King Power Stadium

About this Pub

The King’s Head
City-centre pub close to Leicester railway station (around 650m), making it an easy pre/post-match meet-up. WhatPub notes it’s popular with visitors to the local football grounds, and the pub shows Sky Sports and TNT Sports, with screens in the bar, courtyard and roof terrace—handy for early kick-offs or post-game action. City-centre venues generally welcome away supporters and are about a 15–20 minute walk from King Power Stadium, so this works as a neutral matchday spot. With 12 handpulls and a rotating cask line-up, there’s ample choice for a quick pint, and bar snacks like cobs and samosas are usually available for a fast bite between travel and kick-off.

Went there before watching QPR at the King Power to meet a Leicester City mate. What a great pub! Staff were excellent especially as the pub was full of both sets of fans. Loved the sausage rolls aswell, best i've had in years, proper pub! Hopefully Leicester stay up and i get to go back next season.

Quite splendid traditional pub in the centre of Leicester that offers a great range of cask ales (a dozen taps or more) at moderate prices. The pub is nicely decorated and comfy, and there's a small outside seating area in the back that even has its own TV. Nice community atmosphere, friendly and competent service. All round one of the best traditional pub options in the city.

Up at 5 and a 5-hour train trip to Leicester to watch "The Argyle " in Leicester today!! Really nice pub, plenty of real ales. And very good service. Met up with the "Midland cronies" and I had a couple of Black Horse Christmas ales, which were excellent. Could have done without the full Christmas music, though !! But hey ho I am a Grinch!!! We got stuffed, but who cares 🤔 😁. Still a cracking day out and we get to go back to sunny Plymouth 🌞
