📍 1.4 miles from King Power Stadium
On matchdays it’s handy for fans because it shows live sport (Sky/TNT/Premier Sports) so you can catch early kick-offs or post-match action, and it serves proper meals with set kitchen hours, useful for pre-game fuel. It’s in Aylestone with several bus routes (84/85/87) within 500m, making it easy to hop towards the city or the stadium area. Visiting-supporter guidance notes that buses along Aylestone Road stop a short walk from King Power Stadium, so this is a practical staging point before heading to the ground.
Excellent professional service and staff with great choice of delicious beers and food 😀😋✊🏻💯💯
Charming, rustic traditional pub just outside of Leicester city centre, distinguished by a spacious and comfortable beer garden. I visited the pub on the first day of their "Summer Beer Festival", which essentially meant a larger than usual cask ale and cider range, and a barbecue in the evening. I arrived early in the afternoon when it wasn't too busy, but by the time I left (around 5 pm), it had become quite busy. Service was friendly, the fish cakes I had were quite good and not too pricey, and the atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing. Some nice beers, too.
If you're looking for an old school pub with a relaxed homely feel, this is the place. We enjoyed Sunday lunch here after the Remembrance Day parade at Victoria Park, and I can't praise the staff and especially Colleen for hosting us. The food was 5*, and the locals were extremely welcoming. Looking at what this place has to offer from open comedy nights to quizzes in its separate venue, there's something for everyone. Child and dog friendly with an open fire and plenty of seating, I just wish I didn't live in Northampton as this would become my local!!! Until next time, to Colleen and the team, thanks from us all. You made a difficult day very memorable for all the right reasons.
My first visit to the Horse & considering its situated off the beaten track I was pleasantly surprised at how busy it was. The pub carries a good selection of ales along with a great bar staff team. I turned up on a busy Friday night and never had to wait to be served. There is also a comedy club upstairs which doubles up as a function room. Very handy. There isn't much in the way of parking outside but you don't wanna drink & drive. Prices are unfortunately the usual these days. No discount to be had. Well worth a visit to this Leicester boozer.
Really nice traditional pub, nice character, clean, and a good selection of decent beer. Only down side is, and it's a big one for me, they don't seem to cater for vegans, looking at the menu.
