📍 0.2 miles from King Power Stadium
Local Hero is a large sports-focused pub a short walk from Leicester City’s King Power Stadium (and the Tigers’ ground), making it a convenient pre- or post-match meet spot. The venue explicitly promotes live football with Sky Sports and TNT Sports and lets you book for specific fixtures, so you can guarantee a view of the big screens on matchdays. WhatPub also lists “Sports TV” and notes the site’s proximity to both grounds, plus on-site parking (register inside) and nearby bus routes—handy logistics for getting to and from the game. Recent guides highlight Local Hero as a primary home-fan pub, and the pub has been a known gathering point for Leicester supporters on big occasions.
We came for the Kpop party on Sunday. We have never been to local hero for an event before. We were blown away, what a fantastic day, the kids had so much fun. We were told about breakfast with the Easter bunny, and we’ll definitely be booking onto that. Staff were great, they even dressed up. So so many sewers for the kids and the games were such fun. We didn’t realise until there, our ticket entitled little one to food, which was a massive bonus. We also ordered shared plate, it was scrummy.
So the drinks were good and ordering was easy. I downloaded the app and won a free drink which was brilliant, the good times stopped at that point. I ordered the starters and mains and that happened easily. My son’s starter didn’t turn up so they hurriedly ran into the back and churned out garlic bread with cold grated cheese. The rest of the starters were ok 5 out of the 6 mains rocked up. After mentioning it to the waiter it finally turned up 5 minutes after the rest. The 5 other mains were already cold. I had a xxxmas burger which was an abomination, £13.50 and looked like a member on top of a McDonald’s cheeseburger. Complained at the end and was bought a round of drinks by the manager which was good of them. I don’t normally expect much from places like this but I expect food to turn up and be above room temperature. Photos attached of what I should have got and what I actually got.
Absolute great morning with the kids for breakfast with the bunny, well done to all the staff that worked it, defo value for money, second kids event I have been two and both was great. Lots to do for the kids and food was delicious
Visited The Local Hero in Leicester and had a great experience. I really enjoyed my mixed grill — everything was cooked spot on, full of flavour, and served sizzling hot on the plate. The sound of the steak arriving still crackling was a proper treat. Friendly atmosphere and good food, would happily come back again.
A lovely spot for a relaxed meal and conversation. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, making it a pleasant place to spend time. My burger was decent, though I’ve had better elsewhere for a lower price.
