This is a self-declared Ipswich Town home-fan pub with a lively pre- and post-match atmosphere, making it a natural gathering spot on Portman Road matchdays. Opening hours are adjusted on Ipswich Town home match days, and sport is shown on large screens—handy for early kick-offs or catching other games before/after the match. For food, they serve Mylo’s pizzas Thursday–Sunday and also offer fresh Italian dishes delivered from neighbouring Tavernetta to your table, so you can eat without leaving the pub. Beer choice is solid for matchdays too, with rotating real ales and craft options; recent check-ins show brands like Beavertown, Green Jack and Mauldons on the bar.
The Thomas Wolsey pub, now owned by Ed Sheeran, is a fine place for a drink, though don’t expect him to be pulling your pint or strumming in the corner. There’s live music on Fridays, but usually from other talented souls, not the man himself.
A friendly, characterful pub in Ipswich town centre. There's a decent selection of lager on draught and the pizza is fantastic! If you are ordering food, a side of tater tots is a must have!
We came in here on a Thursday night before we headed out for a meal down the road. I hadn’t been here in a long while but was well worth a revisit. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Prices are fairly reasonable to be fair. We sat by the window and had a relaxing couple of drinks with company. The place was ticking over but not too busy, but must get very busy before football games I’m sure.
Great Ipswich bar with a decent selection of beers and a pizza menu. Broad mix of patrons, good seating options & an old school vibe. Definitely one to search out if you're in Tractor Land, just be aware of any "up sales" if you choose to order any food ...
I was lucky enough to book one of the fantastic Tudor rooms at the Thomas Wolsey last weekend for me and around 20 of my friends. They were extremely accommodating with the room layout and allowing access to the Wi-Fi, Bluetooth speakers, Darts set up, as many tables & chairs as we needed and the fire was roaring when we arrived. As you would expect from the TW the staff were friendly and helpful, and there was a great selection of drinks and cocktails and the food from Mylo’s Pizza was above and beyond fantastic.
