📍 0.2 miles from Portman Road
Arcade Street Tavern is a town-centre craft beer bar, handy for Portman Road: the club’s visiting guide says the stadium is a 5–10 minute walk from the town centre. On busy matchdays, its setup of 13 keg lines split across two bars plus two cask handpulls—and stock of around 120+ beers—means plenty of choice and capacity to serve quickly pre- or post-match. They also note seasonal opening aligned to the football season, which can help around early or late kick-offs. You can check the live beer list and opening times before you head over.
Fantastic venue. Nestled away just off the main shopping area this pub has an excellent selection of beers. There are many keg offerings, a couple of cask beers and fridges full of wonderful Belgian bottles (each with their own matching glass, so done properly). Ample outside seating and plenty of room inside too. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the beers. There is a food offer but as we didn’t order any we can’t really comment. Would highly recommend a visit, we didn’t want to leave and would have happily stayed for the entire day.
This is my favourite pub of all time. I want to thank Ross and the team for always being so welcoming & good-humoured when hosting our little group of French speakers. In particular, I want to say what a wonderful time we all had on last week & thank everyone in The Arcade Tavern for their attentiveness & sup. Fantastic range of Belgian beers too, by the way.
Fantastic bar with fantastic staff. Great beer selection, and cosy, comfortable internal and external seating areas. To add to my previous review, attended a wine tasting evening recently which was fantastic. Organised extremely well by Ross T and Kat, and every one of the group had a fantastic evening. Always a great place to visit, and incredibly well run with a great atmosphere and fantastic staff.
Top quality pub with fantastic and continually changing cutting edge craft beers, not to mention a massive selection of gins and rums. No visit to Ipswich is complete without a visit to the Arcade Tavern. Great events too!
Popped in for a quick pint. Lovely, quirky bar with a convivial atmosphere and great selection of drinks. Would have stayed longer but had a table booked for dinner.
