Had a fantastic meal here! The food was tasty and high quality without the high price tag. It’s rare to find such good value for money these days. To top it off, the beer was crisp and refreshing. The atmosphere is made even better by the staff; they are genuinely friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. Highly recommend for a relaxed afternoon or evening out.
Met up with a few family members for a long over due catch up and chose the cock and pye as was central for most people. Great service from the bar staff and nothing was too much trouble. They have recently launched their festive menu which on appearance looked quite appetising, however I chose a selection of light bites one of which was the "festive pigs in blankets drizzled in maple syrup" (see pic attached) what baffles me is that who ever put that on a plate actually thought that was good enough to be served. Also ordered the hummus with festive Brussels sprout pesto which didn't actually come with any pesto. I did Explain this to the staff and they took away the pigs in blankets to try and brown them off but we're just chucked in the fryer from what I can make out. Now I understand that the new menu has recently been rolled out and there will be teething problems. On a plus note the front of house staff dealt with the situation really well and the manager came and apologised and offered us a round of drinks. Apart from the food we had a great day and the drink offers and bar staff were top notch. Just maybe get the kitchen staff to have a bit of pride in their work!
Amazing time in the cock and pye before the ipswich game. Food was great and the staff were amazing. The young man working in the morning was amazing great to talk to and gave some good food recommendations, and he gave our drinks quickly and well done. Im very happy with my visit and will definitely come again
Fantastic bar which we go to before going to watch Ipswich town fc. Great value food and drinks. Pub very busy bits till had a great atmosphere. The service was excellent because you could see how hard the team worked to keep on top of everything. Special praise to Monica who always greets us with a smile and who excellent at her job Personally I love this pub because of the friendly staff who are fantastic at there job
Popped in for drinks before and after a visit to the Corn Exchange. Nice and clean bar / toilets and efficient service. Opens late and has decent music.
