The pub shows live sport via TNT Sports/Sports TV, meaning televised football is on when broadcast. It also serves home-cooked meals with published food times, useful for lining up before kickoff or grabbing something afterwards.

We spent 1 night here, its a very old pub, just as a local pub should be, a good selection of beers , and home cooked food, I had Chicken & Veg pie, my partner had the Lasagne, big helpings, the land lady and her staff were very pleasant & helpful. The jewel in the crown was our room, decorated in a style we didn't expect, like something in a very chic hotel, it had high ceilings with deep ornate coving, and deep red curtains and bed covers, the bath/shower room was a modern tiled spotless, all new area,. Whittington and Cat couldn't be situated any better for a visit to Hull, its minutes away by foot for anywhere you want to see in the city centre, from shopping to museums, the marina, the old town with cobbled Streets, and of course in our case the nightlife on a weekend, plenty of music bars to wander around,the railway station is only a few minutes walk away. as is the Conexin arena. The list of things to see and do is endless, We highly recommend the Whittington and Cat as the place to stay in Hull.
My sister and I booked a small room each, as we were heading over the road to Connexin Live, to see a show. We wanted to be able to relax, have a drink and fully enjoy the experience. ||The hotel was in a great location for the Connexin Theater, the Shopping area and the old town of Hull with it's historic buildings and cobbled streets. Parking was free and there was plenty of space.||We immediately received a warm welcome from the Host. The bar area was clean, well maintained, warm and inviting. We didn't get the chance to eat there, but the food looked lovely.||Our rooms were very clean and inviting. My bed was super comfortable, very low noise and I slept well. I also really appreciated having a Fan in my room. The window opened easily too. My sister said the same of her room. ||We popped into the bar for a drink before heading to bed. Again receiving a warm and friendly welcome from our hosts, who were very chatty, which was super lovely. The locals who used the bar we really friendly too.||We would - and will - definitely stay again. Good value overall.
The family went for Sunday lunch (6 adults 2 kids). Service was great, all the staff were attentive and so nice. Everyone really enjoyed the meals, and I felt we got really good value for money. We will certainly be going again. Parking in the retail park is 3hrs free. A bid thank-you to all the staff.
We celebrated our dad’s 90th birthday with Jill and her wonderful staff, and they made the day truly special. Jill is the best hostess — warm, welcoming, and nothing is ever too much trouble. Her curry went down an absolute storm; two family members even compared it to my late uncle’s famous curry, which is the highest praise our family can give. The venue was perfect, the atmosphere was lovely, and everyone had a fantastic day. Thank you, Jill, from the bottom of our hearts for helping us create such precious memories. Anjee & Jacky xx❤️❤️
Lovely room. Peaceful despite the busy road nearby. The staff are brilliant. From the menu, the steak pie is to die for. The only downside is the roadworks on the doorstep, but they are due to finish in the next few months.
