I cannot express how grateful I am to have held my son’s birthday party at The Avenue Pub on Chanterlands Avenue this past Saturday. The staff truly went above and beyond to make the whole event perfect. From helping us pre-order the food to showing a video reel of my son on the TV via Bluetooth and playing our music, nothing was ever too much trouble. They even removed a few light bulbs to darken the room so our disco lights would show better — such a thoughtful touch that really helped create the atmosphere we wanted! The staff were genuinely some of the friendliest people I’ve ever come across and were so helpful throughout the entire party. The pizzas came out hot and absolutely delicious, and everything ran so smoothly. It was the perfect setting for our son’s birthday celebration, and it meant so much to us that the team made such an effort to make it special. I highly recommend The Avenue pub on 100 Chanterland Avenue Hull HU5 3TS because it really is the full package. The staff are super friendly and full of good humour. There's often a lot of laughter behind the bar but it never interferes with the highly professional and quick service you get . In my opinion the humour and laughter enhances the service because the overall atmosphere is improved and lightened. Too many pubs these days are sadly a bit too quiet during the day and even gloomy. The Avenue pub, on the other hand, always seems to have a good crowd in and, even when not super busy, the excellent choice of music always adds to the atmosphere. The menu has a wide variety of very tasty meals on offer and its breakfast menu is especially good. Perhaps one weakness is not too much vegetarian on offer but even there you probably have a good half dozen to choose from. As a real ale drinker, the thing I most appreciate and love about the pub is the variety of quality real ales available in a given week. And the manager regularly switches them around so you always have something new to look forward to and stimulate the old taste buds. My personal favourite is the delicious Moonshine ( and at four pounds a pint has to be the best value in Hull for any serious real ale drinker) but there are at least half a dozen others that are close to it in taste, if not equal, always available over a relatively short period of time. At any one time you normally have two great ones to choose from. So, if you want a truly hospitable pub, with great service, tasty food and great ale, you really can't do better than The Avenue. If you haven't done so already, check it out. You definitely won't regret it.

visited 19th feb with family for a pub lunch and a pint food was ok,we all got various different burgers and fries and one kids nuggets and fries. all food was delivered pretty quickly.i tried a double cheeseburger and it was certainly filling,shouldn't have had that pint of beer before i started eating. the guiness was tasty by the way.
The Avenues pub on a main road in Hull is basically for local regulars. The menu is basic at a reasonable price. The service is quick, friendly and rapid....The atmosphere is normally rugby or football provided by TV
