📍 1.5 miles from The MKM Stadium
City-centre pub on Queen Victoria Square that away-day guides flag as a handy stop when walking from the centre to the MKM Stadium. It’s near Hull Paragon station and Princes Quay, so it works well as a meet-up before or after the match. The venue serves home-cooked pub food with stated kitchen hours, which is useful for pre-match meals.
Exceptional food, homemade.all at £8. Service with a smile 😊 Great atmosphere. Please don't change anything, we've heard plans in pipeline, some of us want to enjoy a chat with friends and chat to those around us, being sociable not pool tables and loud music. Also some where we feel safe and comfortable. Don't mend what isn't broken.
Right in town near to princes quay. It's an old pub and a bit tatty but still pretty nice. A nice long bar serving a selection of real ales. We had lunch and surprisingly it was very nice. It is normal pub grub however, I had the beef lasagne which was home made and full of beef and mushrooms. A pile of thick cut chips and side salad. Wife had scamp and said it was nice. This was for an early dinner/late lunch. It was a meal deal of two for 11 odd quid. Dissapointingly though, the garlic bread had been what seemed to be microwaved as it was hot but soggy plus it was a good couple of quid. Next time I'll skip the GB. Overall pretty good but not special and certainly better than a burger or chicken chain.
You can get yourself a Sunday roast with a drink for £15 so that’s worth shouting about. It’s a really mediocre (maybe not even that) roast but it is cheap. I wouldn’t go back for another.
A good old style pub, but the price of a basic beer is far, far, too high, especially for Hull. Plus once the head had settled it was a below-average short measure (it was served too quickly). Just beware, but make your own decision.
Called in for a couple beers the staff was friendly and we wasn't waiting long to be served. We didn't eat here but the food that was being served looked nice and plentyfull. If it tasted nice I couldn't say. But if your passing call in and give it a try.
