City-centre pub with proven matchday appeal: it’s a short walk from Wolverhampton rail station and St George’s tram stop (listed as close to both), it shows Sky Sports and BT/TNT for live football, and local press report it opening early for big derby days. The manager has also said the pub is “very, very busy all day on match days,” indicating a strong Wolves crowd and lively pre-/post-match atmosphere. Fan sites also praise the matchday vibe. Altogether, it’s a convenient, football-focused stop for home supporters heading to or from Molineux.
Albrecht found this Cask Marque pub. Two real ales. Had a pint of Holden's Golden Glow. Very good. L shaped pub with small rear courtyard. Left when awful loud music blared out
Nice pub, quick service, beer was good very reasonable price, good atmosphere & dogs made me friendly 😃
The Duke of York is a traditional friendly pub. There is an extensive range of beers, lagers, and ciders, including four cask conditioned hand pulled real ales. The real ales were in excellent condition when we visited. It is a good place for watching Sport on the TV. The staff are friendly and welcoming.
Best pub in Wolves town centre. The beer is spot on and great for conesoires like me. The clientele are decent respectful mature patrons like me. I feel safe in there. The juke box has a great selection of tunes especially for lovers of Irish music.
Read the reviews and decided to pay it a visit. Its an old school type pub in city centre. Having spoken to a few, non knew where it is but quite blatant when you know. Just one real ale on, well kept and reasonably priced. We really liked the jukebox, there are quieter rooms and areas for the miserables. One thing that stood out was the multiple skipping of records they dont like paid for by customers. Of course we will be in again.
