📍 0.6 miles from Stadium of Light
In Sunderland city centre, The Peacock is specifically recommended to away fans by multiple official club guides, making it a reliable neutral pre-match option. It’s a short walk from Sunderland Railway/Metro (around six minutes), which is handy for travelling supporters. On matchdays the pub is known for a “strong match-day offering” including traditional ham & pease-pudding stotties, so you can get food before or after the game. Overall, its central location, away-fan welcome, and matchday food make it a practical meet-up spot en route to the Stadium of Light.
Went for Sunday lunch with family. Food was delicious, we went for the two meat option. Veggies cooked to perfection and gravy to die for. We appreciate the fact that they bring extra gravy to the table. Great service Donna I apologise for the pic of the half eaten meal (couldn’t wait to tuck in) We will definitely be returning.
Great old school pub in the centre of Sunderland. Excellent selection of cask ales available.
Called in for food. Great atmosphere and for first time in pub felt welcomed. Food was delicious and great priced.
Had Sunday roast here which was really good. The vegetables had great texture and were well seasoned and beef was tender. Large plate of food. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would eat here again. They also offer cocktails.
Fab love music venue in centre of Sunderland. Deff go and see a band !
