📍 0.2 miles from The City Ground
The Trent Bridge Inn is a convenient pre-match choice for Nottingham Forest home supporters: it’s only a one-to-two-minute walk from the City Ground and is highlighted as a lively, good-value spot on matchdays. The Football Ground Guide also notes that away fans are not usually admitted, underlining its home-fan focus. As a Wetherspoon, it serves food all day and offers competitively priced drinks, and the pub’s own page lists Sky Sports and TNT Sports with TV screens and a projector—useful for catching early or late kick-offs. Overall, proximity to the stadium, matchday atmosphere and live sport on TV make it a strong base for home fans before and after games.
This pub is a world famous pub due to its location and connection with the Cricket ground. Its a traditional pub and was clean, service was a little slow concidering the number of bar staff on. Nice atmosphere and good beer
Visited the Trent Bridge Inn during a lively match day for The Hundred, and the atmosphere was electric with cricket fans soaking up the vibe near the iconic Trent Bridge Cricket Ground. The pub’s sporty decor, packed with cricket memorabilia, really adds to the experience. It’s spacious with plenty of seating, including booths and an outdoor area, perfect for soaking in the match-day buzz. I ordered the all-day brunch, which was tasty and hit the spot, though it took about 30 minutes to arrive (the staff were upfront about the wait time when I ordered, which I appreciated). The app ordering wasn’t available, so I had to order at the bar, which was a bit hectic given the crowd, but the staff were friendly and managed well under pressure. The drink selection, especially the real ales, was solid, and prices were as budget-friendly as you’d expect from a Wetherspoon. The only slight downside was the busy bar and a few uncleared tables, but that’s par for the course on a match day. Overall, a great spot for a meal and pint if you’re catching a game or just want a piece of Nottingham’s cricket history. I’ll be back!
This has been my go-to place and honestly feels like a second home. I come here regularly for breakfast and really enjoy the food. Highly recommended if you're looking for a reliable place to eat, sit and spend some comfortable time🥰😍
Was a slightly unwell American needing a meal before seeing a good friend play at Nottingham and wow oh wow did I go to the right place. AMAZING fish and chips, wonderful prices of drinks, nice staff, and friendly locals who were all excited about the game. Highly recommend 5/5
Fine building literally joined on to the cricket ground which actually owes its existence to the pub. In 1837 the landlady married the captain of the Nottinghamshire cricket team who organised matches on the field behind the pub. The first match was in 1838. Players could stay at the pub. It's now an attractive and busy Wetherspoons with excellent cask ales, good food, superb value, friendly and efficient staff. Lovely to be able to eat and without having to look out for dogs in the way.
