Excellent old pub. A few different bars and seating areas. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in town. Seating outside and dog friendly. Shows sport and a load of beers on tap.

Lovely place, been coming here for many years and today was meant to be a birthday lunch. Previously, the food has been amazing, but on this occasion, it was awful. The staff were lovely, the first lot of food that came out was stone cold, the second plate was microwaved with just a fresh fried egg on top and the whole thing was not edible and not worth the nearly £17 that was charged. The lady behind the bar was lovely, I got a refund, but birthday meal pretty much a none starter. The bar lady said they were very busy, which is understandable, but firstly, if a good chef cannot handle a busy kitchen, then they are in the wrong job and secondly, please do not lie to people and tell them that it was a fresh plate of food, when it had obviously been microwaved. Sorry.

One of the best pubs I've been to in this city. Plenty of history adorning the walls and very nice wood panelling. I had a very good ale for around a fiver. Will return and edit this review.

Just the perfect pub for an afternoon pint or two. We loved the front cosy bar away from the rain. Go lunchtime and if you're lucky, Terry (a local gent) will humour you with his jokes and charm. Loved it and him

Very pleasant, traditional and historic pub. Prices higher than others locally, but worth it for the atmosphere and excellent service. We didn't eat, but it had a good menu and it would probably be very pleasant. I'll be back! Thank you.
