About this Pub

Three Bulls Heads

Why it's great for Matchdays

City-centre pub on Percy Street that’s popular on Newcastle United matchdays and listed among the best spots around St James’ Park. It screens live football with a fixtures list and encourages bookings for big games, creating a lively pre/post-match atmosphere. Early opening and an all-day kitchen (food served 9am–9pm on typical days) make it a convenient stop for early kick-offs or after the final whistle. In short: central location near the ground, live sport on big screens, and consistent food and drink service make it a reliable mixed fan hub on matchday.

Very underwhelming pub experience overall! Left dissapointed by the service. I was in the city for business reasons and decided to spend my Thursday evening watching football and eating something local. What I really wanted to experience was an authentic English pub on a football night (Europa League night). The food was pretty mediocre and not really tasty. The shepherd's pie that I ordered had barely any meat in it and was full of mash. The full meal was not very filling either and left me looking for more snacks later at my hotel. However, the worst part of the night was the service and the football I was craving so much to watch. I choose this pub specifically because of the amount of screens that it had (more than 10-12 screens within two floors). My impression was that at least one would have the game I wanted to watch on (a Europa League game). To my disappointment, 80% of the screens had the same game on but very few people seem to care about it. The pub was half-empty for the most time I was there. I had to politely ask 3 different staff members to put my game on and no one seemed to be "authorized" to change a TV channel! The last employee told me that I had to wait for her manager to finish her break and she would do it. Needles to say that I waited for 30+ mins and that manager was nowhere to be found. At some point half of the TV screens changed automatically to curling and that was the point that I decided that I had to go...Would not recommend.

We were a party of 6 and had booked for meal on Sunday 18th January. When we arrived the pub was full of Newcastle supporters for the away game. The young lass was very helpful and took us to our table, which had a lovely reserve sign in my wifes name, which was nice. We all ordered the Sunday roast, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. All the staff we dealt with were very pleasant. Would certainly recommend this pub, great atmosphere. Next time we are in Newcastle will definitely call in again Thank you, The Gang.

As a vegan I was happy to see they do a full green vegetarian breakfast. I ordered this without the fried eggs to make it vegan. The menu in general is vegetarian friendly. Most dishes can be made vegan. It’s a shame they don’t serve any alternative milks. But, then again it’s a pub, and not a cafe. The service was good. Food came out very quickly which was nice as we were hungry! I would definitely come back again.

Alic spotted another Peoples Pub with a Cask Marque. Thus a very good real ale selection. City centre bar vibe rather than a locals vibe. Booth bought me a Cullercoats brewery Grace Darking Blond. A 5% golden ale. Pub doing a roaring trade on this Tuesday afternoon in August. Lots of food being ordered. Buzzing atmosphere. Large upstairs bar as well. Std toilets up here.
